Lucky for us Emily had a conference in Minnesota and Higa was able to come out during this time too! Walter enjoyed hanging out with them both.

You may not realize this, but Dan does all the posting, I sort of think of this as Dan's blog that I get to enjoy...but my Mom is in town watching Walter while I dissertate and Dan experiments with minerals so I thought I might post something.

We recently got Walter his first car....

Guest Post: Walter G. meets Maggie and B.

It is an honor (and a childhood dream come true) to make a guest post on red-canoe.blogspot.com. I'm Ben, and my "GF" ("Girl Friend"? "Girl Fiancèe"? "Gal Female"?) Maggie and I spent a few days visiting Walter, his parents, and his weirdo neighbors (and dear friends, all joking aside) Colin and Jane.

Anyway, we took a ton of pictures, mostly of Walter. Here goes!

I had my first experience changing a cloth diaper with Walter. He was very well-behaved throughout. He makes it look easy being a baby.

Walter's fan Pat in Massachusetts made him a "Baby's First Rock," shown in the foreground. He appears to be more interested in his Dad at the moment, but maybe he's just being shy?

Throughout our stay, Dan and Colin were looking remarkably similar. Make note of their facial hair (which gets an upgrade later in the post).

Walter burps from time to time while absorbing the scene at "Isles Bun & Coffee".

Walter really passed out here. Note that Dan no longer has a beard -- but what does he have? Time shall tell...

Back to the facial hair story: indeed, all three of us ended up with a mustache. It was the full treatment... Straight razor, hot cloths, oils, lotions, and so on. Here's the man who did the job: Mustache Jim. And here he is singing. Okay, okay, back to Walter...
