In January we visited Anna's grandmother in Leisure World (Orange County, CA).


We spent some time in the Sherman Gardens.
Grandma Fannie likes to keep up with the latest technology. She really enjoyed listening to Dan's ipod.

working ski vacation

Here are some pictures from our trip to Itasca. There was still plenty of snow, but it was disappearing rapidly with balmy 50 degree days. We took an evening ski to the headwaters of the Mississippi. We learned that the headwaters were actually moved in the 30's as part of a CCC project. It probably is more scenic to have the Mighty Miss start as some bubbling rapids rather than as a marsh.

At the headwaters of the Mississippi River, plotting our future adventures and getting some work done we thought we would start this blog to track our progress as we head down the "river" (i.e., life). We hope to post recipes so we can look back and remember what we made and how to make it again as well as to post pictures for friends & family to keep track of us.
